today was a perfect day! it was beautiful outside...sunny with a cold breeze. not too much traffic and a relaxing drive to suwanee. of course the best part of today was spending it with chong. i am soo happy that i got out of the house when the weather was so wonderful and no one was home. :o) he and i studied together for medical school for an hour or two i think and then headed over to the park for a nice walk
then i came home and cooked a quick dinner for me and my dad. i think i did quite well too. i made a cabbage/peas sabzi for me and my dad. granted i did drop a plate into the pot which got stuck...but i did well still. and we finished everything! that means the food was GOOD! :o) also, i talked to mummy and paras!
wow. what a great way to end a perfect day.

I'm inside my Cube at work and right now Sharon, Rosie, and Gorez are talking about what they call their mother in laws...as in do they call them Mrs. So and So or by the first name or do they have a name or call them mom....blah. it's a pretty stupid conversation, but im listening anyway. there really isn't anyway to get away from listening to them unless i go out of the office. lol. I think everyone in the office can hear them. lol. Since Gorez has come as an ORISE Fellow to the CDC, Sharon is extra talkative and it looks like they have become fast friends. it's kind of funny and kind of weird at the same time because they talk about personal stuff in the office. :/ weird.

Anyway, in other news, my grandma has come from California. She is staying indefinitely I think. Don't really know if she will stay forever or what not. Because papa has been feeling a lot better in the last few months, we decided that Ba should come to atlanta and live with us for a change of pace for her and my extended family over there. It is really unfortunate but Ba doesn't get along with people well. She never worked when my mom and her brothers were young. She was soooooooo social. She was a really kool person everyone says. Now, with the Epilepsy and the medications, she is bored, angry, and very very restless. She eats hot peppers like there is not tomorrow and salt like hers cells are hypotonic and she longs for attention all the time. The fact that she has like 2 friends doesn't help. Family gets sooo frustrated with her, primarily because we are so worried about her health and when we get frustrated, everything comes out SO WRONG. It usually comes out as shouting or fighting, arguing and scolding. horrible really.

So now that she has come, and I am thoroughly ECSTATIC, I am going to be soo nice to her and take her places and spend time with her and make her cook for me and make my bed every morning. :o) lol. when she keeps busy, she keeps to herself and no one has to yell at her for not taking a nap or for staying out of the kitchen and not doing dishes or cooking on the stove. we are so restricting.

i think it is a great idea that mummy wants to give Ba a cell phone. That is such a good idea. Chong's grandma has her own cell phone and he says she is soo cute when she is on the phone, talking with her friends and making plans. lol. my grandma loves to call extended family in other states and such. in california, she couldn't call anyone because they don't have long distance. lol. so the phone bill, every month, would be sky rocketed all of a sudden when she made a call to Africa without getting permission frist. lol. so funny. but yeh, i think a cell phone is a neat idea.

I have to make a list of all the places i want to take her:

Aquarium
Botanical Gardens
Callaway
Zoo
The High Museum of Art
Coke
Georgia Tech
Piedmont Park
Buckhead
Helen
Lake Lanier
Stone Mountain
Lake Alatoona
the library

She will really like all that. :o)

I have a long day ahead of me. A very SCARY DAY actually. :/ I'll update later...maybe.

Wish me luck everyone!

bad dreams

i had a horrible dream last night. i forgot MOST of it but the jist of it was that chong proposed...and i screamed "YESSSSS!!"...and after we got married, i had a HUMONDO arguement with my family afterwards (immediate and EXTENDED). it was terrible. all i remember is them being so angry with me and telling me this couldn't be possible. but i stuck with him. i asked them why they weren't happy for me. i don't remember the rest. i woke up to my dad yelling at my mother this morning.

:/

i am missing chong so much. i feel pretty deprived of being happy now that he is not here. luckily he is coming back tomorrow! and we'll be in the same STATE! schweet! i really hope i get to see him soon. i don't want to bother him too much since he will most-likely be jet-lagged from his long trip back to the states from london. ohmygodican'twaittoseemymans!!!

GAME 6!!!

i'm watching the game. i hope celtics LOSE! at first, i just wanted lakers to win, but NOW, i want the celtics (bigheads) to LOSEEEEEEEE! BADLY!!! unfortunately, i think lakers are going to lose because these last two games are in Boston. I really don't like Paul Pierce. He is such a buttface gang member! he is so cocky and i want him to lose. lol. i think the only ppl im really indifferent towards are Ray Allen (actually like him a lot) and Kevin Garnett (but he is the best on the team so im starting to not like him). If KG gets fouled out, then I will LOVE him! he looks like velociraptor. FO REAL! lol. his head is just like the jurassic park dinosaurs that try to rip up all the people for dinner! yeahhhhhh!

kobe bryant looks like a koala. i don't know if he looks like one, but he definitely REMINDS me of one.

Odum reminds me of Bikram. lol. so funny.

I really hope lakers play really good defense today. I they win, they better win with like a HUMONDO lead. they have been slacking man. every game is like a 2 or 4 pt game. pretty lame.

anyway, game game game time!

Eventful Weekend

Friday we went to Tech to celebrate Michelle's big 22nd birthday i want to say. we had a good time. i think i was really tired from doing nothing at work all day before I went to her place. We had this great cake! and popsicles!! mmmmmmm! so good. i love strawberry-flavored anything/everything! fun times.

i had to wake up early on saturday because it was Mahavir Jayanti and we had to go to the temple for the day. we had a good time i guess. leaving the house took forever and i wasn't having the greatest morning. people just aren't constructive when they are criticizing others under a stressful situation. i wanted to scream!!! but then things just went along...blah blah...and i left the temple to meet up with sunira, jeremy and folk before the Holi Show.

the Holi Show wasn't bad at all. It is the first GT indian person event I had ever been to. not bad. I really enjoyed the Kruti Dance that was obviously choreographed by Shemoni. She was really excellent. Their dance was very very good. And of course Puja and friends did a great job. I really enjoyed their first dance. She is in two dance troops...I had completely forgotten. But she looked beautiful and cute and just like she always does...very elegant. I am really proud of her. She is a really good person and has done quite well for herself. :o) I loved growing up with her and I hate how college unintentionally made us grow apart a bit. but it's kool. We still love each other a whole lot!!!

Dude, and what is up with INDIANS!! I thought it was excessively rude how ppl got up and IMMEDIATELY exited the concert hall BEFORE the master of ceremonies. Right when the last dance ended, ppl got up out of the chairs and walked out. lol. Of course, I exited as well. I guess my friends saw all the people leaving so they got up and started walking out too. Maybe they couldn't hear me saying, "Guys, let's not leave yet. This is not nice." lol. But then again, I guess I had a choice to have just stayed seated. Just because I was sitting in the middle of them didn't mean I had to leave too, right? Anyway, that was not cool. I turned and heard Dimple say, "Wait! Where you going?!" lol. I felt pretty badly actually. Jaimini was telling me the night before about how much effort she had put into the show and how she was so stressed and hoping that this one would be a REALLY good one since I believe it will be the last show is she directing. I think she did a fine job.

And then Sunday, what a hectic day. I didn't get back from the temple until 5:30 or something. pretty late considering we left at 10:30 in the morning. I was so tired yesterday. Mum and I fixed a lot of clothes that needed to be fixed. I wore a cerulean dress chaniya choli that I absolutely love!!! I'm so happy my aunts sent me new clothes from India. I haven't had new clothes from the mother country for about 10 years now. lol. This is the first time I'm really getting the things I WANT in the least in almost a decade! DANG!!!! I really want to go to India and explore the country more than anything. Seeing the Taj Mahal and maybe studying dance are two of my big goals that I plan on making realities in the near or far future. :/

Anyway, I have to help my mom. She just pissed me off to a whole different level. She takes things out, throws them on the floor and expects me to help her put all the things back in the SAME freaking place. lol. WHY????????! Whatever.

What would you like to do more of?

View 501 Answers

I wish I could ski more often. I would love to go on a holiday where I could ski all day long. What I really want is to go on a ski vacation with chong. That would be the highlight of my year. :/ Actually, I just want to go on a holiday with him in general. lol. THAT would REALLY be the highlight of my year...and also last year.
I would also like to spend more time talking to my parents about all the reasons why they support me and my decisions as a young woman. Why they support my goals in life, my actions as of now, etc. I would love to spend time doing that with them...especially because it never happens. lol.

What do you love about where you live?

View 501 Answers

I love the newer part of my neighborhood. Everyone gardens and all the flowers are in bloom and trees are nice and trim. It's like every house has a secret garden of its own. I especially love the tulips that wong's parents planted. they are gorgeous. and susie's big tree with these HUGE magenta/light pink magnolia-looking blooms is sooooooo pretty. i also really love that right when you make your first turn onto pullman trail, the dad and son who live in the house in front of the stop sign are always playing catch together. that kid is really small and cute. lol. it reminds me of when i was younger and my dad, my brother and i would play catch and tennis together like 100 times a day. :o) that side of neighborhood is fairly classy and posh and pretty and i want to secretly move to that side of brendan heights. :P
